“I am glad I found dancing”
Dance Moves.
Basket with 3 different turn outs.
Arm hook travelling from catapult.
Can be done either side. Note the arm not held is best kept out of the way. Makes sure you step to the side when you drop to reach behind.
The hammerlock - tragic version. Thanks to a lady (Everlyn) who's first attempt at the hammerlock was bad beyond belief. Later, I realised that it was actually genius. A new move brought to you by MaxJive. Difficulty level: fair to middling.
Flip right leg over left and keep both feet essentially in the same spot.
An element for Jungleland. Difficulty level: elementary.
What is boomeranging in dance?.
An original move by MaxJive.
Splay fingers to offer. If not taken up then place hand on top of follower's hand. Light touch and practice needed for the pass through.
If at first you don't succeed ...
We will have to try and try again.
I am trying to replicate what I felt with Georgina some years back. It felt exquisite through the arms. Ignoring what it looks like, it felt special. Of the tens of other ladies that I have done this roll with, nothing has come close to that sensation.
Intro idea - work in progress for the start of Badlands. Note: This looks straightforward, it is straightforward, but the potential to topple is very great. A small lean creates a huge pull. (At that small angle I need to pull around 1/3rd of her body weight) If the angle increases another 10 degrees it exceeds half her body weight. Find something to hold on to, a handle of some sort and lean yourself to get an idea before you attempt this kind of move. You will quickly gauge the extent of the forces involved.
Can be used mid dance or at the end. Make sure you put your leg out - else a tumble will ensue.
Easy easy easy, yet few do this right.
Noob move, but a great fill nevertheless. Leader will use this to give them time to think of the next move to do. Add pauses for effect.
Ideal move to express yourself.
How you get there doesn't matter. With hands on your shoulder let go and offer below.
You may have to shout spin me. What? Spin me. Oh spin you - never spun a man before. (So many have danced for decades and never spun a man.)
Forget about the naff lean with knees touching, this is the real thing. Me and Megan spent an age devising a balance like this with just one leg but were bedevilled by torsion issues. So, we plumped for this. Outside in light rain it was stunning looking up. This is highly dangerous on a dance floor. It might look easy, but one slight error will land you in A&E.
A clear demonstration that if you learn true tension in your arms it works wonders. In this case a little too well.
